Image Leading independent vendor of standards compliant UNC systems, which control many femtocells from the operator’s core network. This system can be used for many different radio access technologies including WiFi, 2G, 3G, CDMA and Bluetooth.

Founded in 2001 as a privately owned, venture capital backed business, they are headquartered in Milpitas, California. NEC took a stake in the business in September 2008.

This company has proven interworking with femtocell vendor Ubiquisys and has live deployments for dual-mode WiFi systems such as BT Fusion. Combined with Ubiquisys, Kineto Wireless products form a cornerstone of the standard femtocell solution which NEC install and integrate for operators.

Their UMA software stack has been licenced by several handset vendors for use in dual mode WiFi/GSM phones.

In this slideshow, Steve Shaw, VP Marketing, outlines the business case and current status update for femtocell market from a UMA perspective.
