Launched femtocell in July 2007, and also a Femto Gateway which can handle multiple vendors' femtocells (appears to be based on their existing 3G UMTS RNC) using a proprietary interface which supports other femtocells vendors.

Airvana announced successful interoperability tests for voice calls in September 2007, and trials are expected during 2007 with commercial deployment in 2008. Both companies will co-operate to market and sell the joint solution, although each company will independently supply its product to the operator.

Their product page includes this Downloadable datasheet which describes running Iub over secure IP, handling four simultaneous voice calls plus one emergency call, and data rates of 7.2Mbit/s downlink and 1.4 Mbit/s uplink.

Reported to be exploring options with Taiwanese manufacturers for high volume/low cost.
