This Taiwanese mobile network operator is reported to have issued an RFP for procurement of up to 3000 femtocells at a total price of $3.3 Million in July 2008.

Presumably the contract includes all network deployment, femtocell gateway and other aspects of the solution. However, this would price each femtocell installation at around 1000 US dollars - over 10 times the long term target price.

Chungwha is known as an early adopter of new technology.

Various Taiwanese firms are also likely to benefit, because many femtocell vendors outsource their manufacturing to Taiwanese companies.
