Announced the DVG834GH product features ADSL2+, 10/100Mbit router/switch, firewall, 802.11g WiFi, VoIP and 3G femtocell from Ubiquisys. Commercial product available mid-2008. Also announced plans to interwork with Kineto Wireless and with Nokia Siemens Femto-Gateway. The product has also been accepted into NEC's femtocell solution.
Netgear's fully integrated DSL modem and femtocell product.
The box was initially demonstrated at Mobile World Congress in February 2008. The rear view shown below includes connections for DSL phone line, ethernet ports for wired computers, standard phone jacks for 2 fixed wired phones (uses VoIP internally to make/receive calls), a printer port for printer sharing and a SIM card used to authenticate the device (when used in the UMA architecture). The unit supports both WiFi and 3G UMTS radio interfaces, and comes with an installation CD. The product manager stated at the show that custom variants of the product could be spun out in about 3 months to meet the branding requirements of individual operators. This could include different physical format of the case/packaing as well as branded logos, colour schemes, software tweaks within the installation software etc.
